Some things you would like to know about the guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Is that Johnny Allen Hendrix is from Seattle, Washington. Learning to play guitar as a teenager he taught himself after being inspired by blues music. He eventually started playing in a few bands the rocking kings and the tomcats. Hendrix did a tour in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1962 in which he created a new bank called the king casuals.

Later playing backup to famous performers such as Little Richard, Sam Cooke, and the Isley Brothers. This lead him to form a group Jimmy James and the Blue Flames, that played all around NY City. It was in 1966 that Jimmy met Chas Chandler who became his manager then he went to London to join Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell as the start of the Jimi Hendrix Experience.

England's rock royalty such as the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Who, and Eric Clapton. The hit of the band's first single, "Hey Joe" lead to other top hits such as "Purple Haze" and "The Wind Cried Mary."

His amazing guitar playing skills on stage was innovative along with his sound which allowed him to win over American audiences at the Monterey Pop Festival in June 1967 where fans got to witness Hendrix lighting his guitar on fire.

The rock guitar legend quickly become a rock music superstar, on albums such as Axis: Bold as Love and Electric Ladyland. One of the most remembered legendary musical events the Woodstock Festival where Jimmy did the "The Star-Spangled Banner" he was able to try out new songs and sounds that made him known for experimenting.

After several more attempts to start a new group the bands he formed did not take off to much success before he died on September 18th, 1970. He was only 27 years old and remains a legendary artist of the electric guitar.

I have that album too! Hendrix was one with his guitar. It was an extension of his musical creativity.
