63The official life story of slain rap legend Tupac Shakur is heading to bookstores, more than 14 years after his tragic murder, Tupac Amaru Shakur was born in the 70's known as 2Pac who has sold over 75 million albums worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists in the world. It has been reported that in the U.S.37.5 million records have been sold as the Greatest Artist of All Time.
Tupac was also an actor and social activist, starting as a backup dancer for digital underground.In September 1996, Shakur was shot in the Las Vegas metropolitan area of Nevada. He was taken to the University Medical Center, where he died of respiratory failure and cardiac arrest.
His music is one that many consider to be a part of a socially conscious movement through his music and albums where he attacks social injustice, poverty and police brutality on songs such as Brenda's Got a Baby, Trapped and Part Time Mutha. Noteably his style produced his social consciousness and Afrocentrism that was part of hip hop in the 80s and 90s.
Tupak had an influence on other rap groups as Public Enemy, X-Clan, and Grandmaster Flash, as he became one of the first major socially conscious rappers from the West Coast.
Shakur's work can be seen with his 95 album Me Against the World. Later he released All Eyez on Me which are classics as in Ambitionz Az a Ridah, I Ain't Mad at Cha, California Love, life Goes On and Picture Me Rollin.
He also has tracks that were of a dance beat showing his celebration for life and his way of expressing his experiences through his lyrics and style of music, even to this day many aspiring rappers and musicians look to copy or duplicate his sound and keep his music alive through the decades to come.
